At Salsarita's Gear, we ship via UPS. With UPS, your final shipping costs are determined by the weight of the order and the zip code to which the order is being shipped.
However, like any shipping service, UPS charges a minimum rate for any shipment up to 1 pound. Then, for each additional pound, the cost is increased in smaller increments. How can this work in your benefit? In the long run, you can save your store more money by placing fewer – but larger – orders, as opposed to several, smaller orders.
For instance, on average, if your entire order consisted of 6 t-shirts, it would likely cost around $8.00 for shipping. If you were to instead order 25 t-shirts, it would typically only increase your shipping cost to around $12.00. So, by ordering only 6 shirts, your shipping costs add about $1.33 per shirt to your final cost. By ordering 25 shirts, and incurring a minimal shipping increase, you’re only adding about $0.48 to the cost of each shirt. If you ordered 50 shirts, it would likely increase your shipping to about $18.00, thereby increasing your cost per shirt by only $0.36.
Obviously, these final costs can vary by zip code. However, you can see how this can save you money over time! This same ideas applies to all items on our site – headwear, polos, button-ups, etc. And we know that sometimes you just need a few shirts. That’s okay! Just know that by planning ahead and ordering in larger quantities, over time, you can definitely help the bottom line on your budget!
